With the countdown to Christmas … what’s your top tip for clients to get them ready for party season?
OK so for us guys, we don’t have to worry about fitting into the Little black dress. But that doesn’t mean we can swap the gym for the pub. Keep on track with your fitness regime and diet. If you feel good, you look good. Increase your fluid intake and I’m not talking about the alcohol variety! Keeping hydrated is so important for our mood and our body. Have a pint of water before you head out and when you get back to ease the effects on the body.
For someone starting out into fitness would they be better waiting until January to get moving?
Now is the best time to start. What you put into yourself you will get back 100 times. Fitness is something you live, it’s part of life. You’re body is a performance machine and everyday is an opportunity to experience how amazing it really is. Would I recommend waiting till January…no. It’s like the old Chinese proverb says:
The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
Top tip to keep stress at bay over the holiday season?
Find your own space. With all the running around, parties, drinks and crazy shopping crowds we sometimes forget how nice it is to retreat to a quite space. I personally find a good pilates class an amazing way to unwind. It’s just you and the practice and everything else disappears.
Do you eat clean & healthy over Christmas or will you over indulge like the rest of us?
I often try my best to eat a good diet all year long but to be honest I’m not the best at it and over Christmas I tend to go over the top. Christmas is the traditional time of indulgence to go crazy on food. It gives me a break from all the discipline and to go out and enjoy lots of food I generally try to avoid. But as soon as Christmas is over I go right back on track.
What’s at the top of your Christmas wish list this year
A new Yamaha MT-07 motorcycle in blue (in case you are reading this santa!) and a new socket set maybe in red.
