Tell us about yourself & how you got to where you are today
Hi guys my name is Denis. I got interested in the fitness industry at a very young age with a view to improving my rugby. Over the past 11 years I have developed my skills in a number of areas such as rehabilitation, pre and post op health support, prosthetic preparation, and overall health & wellbeing.
How do you spend your average working day
I’m an early bird, I teach a lot of morning classes here at Platinum Pilates. Getting a workout in before you start your day has many benefits. I’ll be there with you through the bed hair, coffee fuelled workouts.
When I’m not in class, I do spend a lot of time with my 6 month old boxer puppy going on walks, going to the gym to train, an having a quite night in watching Netflix.
What inspires you?
I love helping people, it inspires me to inspire others. I enjoy watching people achieve their goals, and having the opportunity to be a part of their success.
What are your goals in life?
To be a Dad, that is a side of life I cannot wait to be a part of.
What does wellness mean to you
Wellness means knowing how to challenge and reduce stress in your life. Learning how to develop a healthy mind – which leads to a healthy body.
What advice would you give to someone looking to become more healthy
Start small, create achievable goals that can be made bigger over the weeks. The most important thing is to enjoy what your doing.
Top 3 tips for wellness
– Always stay positive, remember how valuable you are.
– Enjoy what you do, whether it is food, exercise or work goals.
– Always allow some “me time” everyday whether you have the opportunity to sit down to read a book, watch a movie, bake, train, anything you want to do during the time you created for yourself.
What’s next on the cards for you
The next step for me is to work with kids and families to improve their health and fitness. I want to give children that are struggling with their health, weight, confidence, etc… the chance to succeed in whatever they put their mind to.
