Week 2 started off much better than Week 1. I have been feeling more motivated knowing that I wasn’t the only one that struggled with week 1.
Week 2 brings a new focus and a promise to try and not to be so hard on myself.
Monday, I increased my water intake to help with food cravings and have been eating pretty well. Portion control is definitely something I need to work on. My day was packed so I didn’t get a chance to exercise. I had plenty of running around so feel I was active enough.
On Tuesday, I decided I would get up early and give myself 30 minutes on the Reformer before I started teaching. I couldn’t get over how tight I was after taking the week off. I couldn’t believe how energized I felt after my morning classes. Usually I rush home for a nap before I’m back for my evening classes. Diet wise Tuesday, I was a little bold. I finished teaching at 10pm, and by the time I got home I was in no mood to cook. Instead I opted for four bowls of Cheerios. There was nothing “Cheery” about it!
Wednesday was another long day but I managed to do well food wise. I’ll admit I was feeling a bit guilty after all those Cheerios. I had a big bowl of porridge for breakfast and got a delicious chicken and superfood salad between my lunch and evening classes. Once I got home that Evening, I had porridge again, at least it’s better then Cherrios. I have a lot of walking around between studios on Wednesday’s so decided to make the walk brisker then usual. I also hopped on the Reformer before my classes for a quick Ab blast.
All in a days work.
Thursday, after my classes I headed up to Clonskeagh to get 40 minutes done on the Reformer. I find it quite difficult to motivate myself to do the exercises I’m not fond of. These are probably the ones I need to do the most. I’m hoping to get into more of the other teachers classes in week 3. I’ve been finding it really hard to find class times that suit my schedule this week as I’m not booking in advance and classes are filling up so quickly (which is great to see, big shout out to all our fantastically motivated clients).
Friday was a bit of a low point for me. A few of us decided to get together and video some exercises on the Reformer for Instagram. My flexibility, mobility and strength could definitely use some improving. After comparing myself to all the beautiful movers I was recording with, I was a bit hard on myself. This naturally lead to me deciding to grab a glass of wine with one of the girls and have a good moan. After a good rant, I came to the conclusion that we just have to respect where we are now. We are all constantly progressing and improving. I need to try not to compare myself so harshly to others.
My Weekend was lovely. I went out for dinner and drinks on Saturday night. Wasn’t feeling the freshest Sunday but I took some time to chill out and relax and am feeling so so ready for week 3.
This week has given me the focus to take a breath and relax. I’m slowly learning not to be so hard on myself and focus on myself and not everyone else around.
