Barbara’s Slovakian soup recipe!
This recipe comes from my beloved grandmother who was from Slovakia.
16oz bag of green organic lentils
2-4 tablespoons of plain flour
2 bay leaves
Sea salt and sugar by taste
2-4 tbl spoons of organic apple cider vinegar
Black pepper by taste
1/4 cup of whole organic milk
1 tbl spoon of real butter
Soak the lentils overnight. After they soaked, clean the water and cover the lentils with water and double the amount.
Put in onion, bay leaves and sugar. Cook until lentils turn soft.
In the meantime place the plain four on a good quality tefal pan and stir with wooden spoon until flour will turn golden .After that add flour to the soup whisking the whole time while adding with whisker. This is really important if you don’t want to have lumps in your soup.
Add salt, pepper and milk. Let it boil for few more mins and add butter at the end. Mix well. If you like your soup more sour, you can add organic apple cider vinegar.
