We are delighted to introduce the newest member of the Platinum Physiotherapy Team, Liam Curran.

Liam brings a wealth of experience through his many years working in private practice, his extensive continuous professional development and his own experience dealing with complex injuries whilst playing rugby at an elite level.

Liam’s journey has taken him all the way from Donnybrook with the Leinster U20’s to the Platinum Physiotherapy team. Here’s a short summary of Liam’s Biography.

Liam qualified with Honours in Physiotherapy from Trinity College Dublin. Over the last number of years, he has worked extensively in private practice and with sports teams treating a vast range of injuries. Liam enjoys engaging with his clients in a clinical setting and working in unison with the patient to develop pain free movement and independent management of complex injuries & dysfunction. His natural curiosity for all thing’s movement related allows him to think outside of the box and to assess injuries from a holistic point of view, empowering clients and making lasting changes to their wellbeing.

Whilst studying physiotherapy in Trinity, Liam experienced life as an elite rugby player with Leinster rugby at U18, U19, U20 level. Having qualified with honours, Liam then made the full transition by returning to work as a physiotherapist with the Leinster U18s schools’ team. Although Liam continues to play club rugby to a very high level he also work’s regularly with some of Dublin’s most prestigious rugby clubs.

Outside of rugby Liam spends most of his spare time building up an extensive knowledge base by completing accredited courses in strength and conditioning and manual physiotherapy. Liam’s life experience in elite sport and his continual professional development provide Liam with numerous mechanisms to help elevate pain & injury. Liam particularly enjoys using dry needling, joint mobilisations and myofascial trigger point release in his manual treatment and often accompanies these hands-on skills with in-depth exercise prescription. Liam’s background in the sporting environment has given him a wealth of experience in overcoming personal injuries and treating aspiring young athletes to overcome complex injuries. Thus, he tailors all his treatments to meet the needs and goals of the individual to ultimately help people maintain a pain free lifestyle and to encourage optimal physical & mental wellbeing.
