Welcome To Anthony Pierce, Our New Physiotherapist.

Hot on the heels of Emma, we welcome another new member to our Physiotherapy Team, Anthony Pierce.

After spending 10 years in the UK, Anthony returns home to join us here at Platinum Physio.

Anthony qualified as a Charted Physiotherapist from the University of Essex in 2010 following completing a four-year degree in Natural Sciences with moderatorship in Physiology at Trinity College Dublin in 2008.

Whilst working as a Chartered Physiotherapist in the UK, Anthony worked in both the public and private sector.

In the National Health Service, Anthony held a senior role at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital, London. This role involved the assessment and rehabilitation of specialist musculoskeletal acute and persistent conditions including post-operative ligament reconstructions and spinal injuries. Anthony worked alongside orthopaedic consultants in the initial development of a post-operative shoulder class.

As Team Lead Physiotherapist, Anthony project managed a Local Guideline for hip tendinopathy at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust in London. He was also on the National Institute of Health Research expert review panel hip tendinopathies. Anthony gained excellent experience working in Imperial, a major London trauma centre, treating the lower quadrant particularly the Foot and Ankle. Whilst leading the team at Imperial College Healthcare Trust, Anthony treated some of the UK’s leading long-distance runners and triathletes.

In the private sector, Anthony has worked for several practices including Spire Hospital. Here he liaised closely with orthopaedic and pain consultants. Within the sports setting, Anthony held a role with Ipswich Town Football Club. He also provided academy pitch side treatment for professional rugby clubs Harlequins and Saracens. Anthony is currently a physiotherapist with the Carlow Senior GAA football team.

Passion & Expertise.

Anthony brings a wealth of specialist physiotherapy expertise and experience to Platinum Physiotherapy. He is passionate about employing manual physiotherapy intervention and evidence based physiotherapeutic techniques. Anthony is a consummate professional and his experience, skills and expertise ensure that each patient will be treated using the most up to date evidence based research and hands on techniques. His knowledge and expertise in lower limb pathologies is second to none. His experience working with some of the world’s leading practitioners for foot and ankle injuries allows him to maximise recovery times with innovative assessment and rehabilitation techniques.

Outside of work, Anthony has just completed his MSc in Advanced Neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy at University of Hertfordshire.

Anthony enjoys endurance sports and has promised to bring home the Gold medal in the 2018 Welsh Iron Man competition.
