Meet Sophie Mallen – new to the team!

We think the thing that makes Platinum Pilates so special is the people we have working it in. In this latest Real Time series we’ve grilled our team so we can share a little more of their magic with you.

Here we chat with Sophie Mallen, a recent addition to the Platinum team – Sophie joined us in August and will be teaching Reformer classes soon!

Tell us about yourself and how you got to where you are today

I studied business in college and went on to work in Sales and Marketing, moonlighting as a Yoga Teacher, I came to realise pretty quickly that the sedentary office life really wasn’t for me and that my passion was for teaching movement!

How do you spend your average working day?

At the moment I’m based in the Clonskeagh reception and spend most of my working day chatting to our lovely clients! Going forward, I will be teaching reformer classes and private lessons (I cannot wait!!!)

What inspires you?

Progression, even if it’s tiny! Feeling little positive changes in outlook or movement inspires me.

Sophie Mallen

What are your goals in life?

To love what I do, see the world and enjoy the little things along the way

What does wellness mean to you?

Wellness to me is feeling comfort in your own body and mind.

What advice would you give to someone looking to become more healthy?

Find what works for you! Different methods of exercise suit different people and while you might see great results quickly, if you don’t like what you’re doing you aren’t going to stick with it long term, find your favourite flavour of exercise and it will be impossible to stop. When your bodies moving you start to crave the right sort of foods to nourish it.

Top 3 Tips For Wellness

  • Listen to your body
  • Nourish yourself with wholesome foods & lots of positive self talk
  • Become best friends with drinking water (your mind, skin and body will thank you)

What’s next on the cards for you?

I am so excited to see what my future at Platinum Pilates holds! I would love to work with people who struggle with movement and body awareness as I feel it would be an amazing challenge and extremely rewarding.
