What are the things that you do to make sure you look and feel your best in the run up the the Summer?
In order to look and feel my best on the run up to summer, I make sure I drink plenty of water to stay hydrated and eat lots of fresh fruit. I try to take classes that will really challenge me physically so I leave the studio feeling energised and invigorated.
Do you follow any particular diet plan?
I don’t follow a strict diet plan, I just try to keep balanced eating habits. I am guilty of having a sweet tooth so I’ve started making my own smoothies whenever I get a craving for something sweet.
These are great because you can add lots of nutritious fruit and veg into a really tasty drink.
How do you stay motivated all the time?
Like everybody else I have my good days and bad days. I think the important thing to remember is that when you have a bad day, don’t be too hard on yourself.
Keep pushing yourself to achieve your goals but there are some days when just turning up to class is the best you can do, and that’s ok.
I always tell myself go and exercise no matter what, and after it you’ll feel much better, with a lot more energy. I try to think about all the benefits of exercising. And if I don’t make it to class, oh the guilt!
I find it really helps me when I book my classes well in advance so I can plan ahead and my mind is already set for them.
What advice do you have for someone struggling to get started on a health kick?
“Just do it”.
What does a typical day in your life look like.
I don’t really have many days in my life that are typical. I teach barre and reformer at platinum which I really love and I find I’m learning news things day by day.
Outside of that I’m a dancer and an aerialist, so my days vary from hanging off 40 meters high cranes to rehearsing and performing in theatres.
I like to take dance, aerial and Pilates classes as often as I can to keep my technique strong and stay in shape.
