Clinical Physio Pilates

A one-on-one programme specifically designed by a physiotherapist for your needs.

At Platinum Collective, we’re combining our knowledge of Pilates, passion for movement and state-of-the-art equipment with experienced chartered physiotherapists to bring you Clinical Pilates… a bespoke one-on-one treatment system combining physiotherapy and Pilates principles to bring your body into balance.

Although Pilates and Clinical Pilates (also known as clinical rehabilitation or clinical exercise) may sound very similar, there are a number of distinctions between their methodologies, objectives, and delivery. Pilates is an amazing movement system for generally healthy and injury-free clients. Exercises for general core stability, strength and endurance are part of non-clinical Pilates. Pilates aims to improve overall physical wellness, without concentrating on a particular injury, physical requirement or specific muscle group.

Classes can be reformer- or tower-based, and include a good deal of strength, mobility and core work to challenge, change and shape your movement.

Clinical Pilates, on the other hand, is carried out on a one-on-one basis and offers a more specific type of class, also using the tower or reformer machine. Sessions take into consideration all elements of your health and wellness and the programme is created specifically for you.

Instead of having numerous people follow the same programme, Clinical Pilates considers an individual’s unique ailments and physical limitations, whether following an injury or surgery, or if the person is dealing with back pain or other issues, such as tennis elbow. Improvements in posture, flexibility, muscle strength, control, balance and core as well as strengthening of the pelvic floor are just a few advantages of this.

A convergence of the best of Physiotherapy and Pilates.

A clinical evaluation performed by a licensed chartered physiotherapist is another element that separates Pilates from Clinical Pilates. A Clinical Pilates instructor is highly knowledgeable and trained in the pathology and physiology of exercise and physiotherapy. The teacher creates a programme with exercises that are specifically designed to address the patient’s concerns and improve, and reduce the chance of, aggravating any existing conditions.

Which is best for me?

Movement is medicine – the body needs healthy movement every day to achieve optimal health physically, mentally and emotionally.

Both Clinical Pilates and regular group Pilates are incredible systems to help your body reach its peak.

Even if you’re an avid Pilates fan, we highly recommend you treat yourself to a Clinical Pilates session a few times a year to really check in with our practitioners, have your movement patterns assessed, and allow us to recommend some really specific movement patterns that will enhance your overall health.

The cost of Clinical Pilates sessions is covered by some health insurers; check your policy to see whether this applies to you.
